The challenge

Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted major events and product launches, the Geneva International Motor Show 2020 had to be cancelled. Therefore, Kia needed to find an alternative way to unveil the all-new Sorento SUV.

The method

With plans for a Facebook livestream, TheNewsMarket proposed to support Kia by hosting the event on our dedicated content hub thenewsmarket.com. Media alerts were sent to our registered database of automotive and business journalists and an alert banner was created on Kia Motors Global Media Centre. To supplement this promotion, the story was promoted on TheNewsMarket’s Twitter channel.

The outcome

Over 250 journalists tuned in to the livestream on thenewsmarket.com, surpassing Kia's expectations.
