The Library of Congress

The challenge

The Library of Congress (LOC), the largest library in the world, was looking for a vendor to build and manage an online newsroom, with 24/7 technical support, that was able to house all types of content such as press releases, videos, photos, hearing transcripts, and speeches. It was also imperative that the platform provide password-protection capability for copyrighted content.

The method

Our round-the-clock support was key to TheNewsMarket winning the business. We designed an intuitively organized newsroom to best support the purposes of the media who will be visiting the site, featuring a carousel highlighting the current and highest profile announcements, plus a fully accessible archive of older material. LOC also required a CRM that allowed its team to manage the content. The new platform provides full autonomy to the LOC’s team to determine when materials should be updated and whether material is designated for password protection (i.e. only accessible when journalists register with the Library as media).

The outcome

Since the launch, the LOC has been one of the top performing newsrooms in the US.
